Mark Steers and Brian Ward rode the ECCA E91/10
ten mile time trial on Wednesday afternoon. With extremely windy conditions
threatening rain, the Hainault racers were lucky to escape the worst of the
weather that plagued the later riders. Steers rode his fixed-wheel machine to
put in a great performance stopping the clock in 23.36, his best time on this
course all year and bagged fourth place overall for his efforts. Ward managed to
pull off a commendable 27.47 with the event being won in 22.14 by Mark Howard
of Shaftesbury CC.
